About ChannelFlip Media

The Pitch

We make TV shows. For 18-35 year old men. About specific interests. And we distribute them over the internet.

That’s really the short, sharp pitch for ChannelFlip Media. Our programmes are a bit different from regular TV. For starters, our shows are about things you won’t normally find on telly - gadgets, videogames, DVD reviews and more. Each episode is about five minutes - making it easy to digest. And unlike TV, you can take our shows anywhere - watch them on on our website, download them to your computer, even play them on your iPod or iPhone while you commute. You can subscribe to our show feed, and have the latest episodes pushed directly to you with the minimum of effort.

Currently, the ChannelFlip network has three shows:

Unwired: the hottest gadgets, technology and boy’s toys around. Technology guru Wil Harris checks out mobile phones, HDTVs, laptops and portable technology and gives you the need-to-know info.

Play:Digital: The geekalicious Katharine Fletcher feeds you tasty morsels of gaming info, as she reviews the latest and greatest gaming titles on console, portable and PC.

Discus: Join film buff Justin Gayner for a look at the week’s must-watch DVD releases, including film analysis and a close look at the special features thrown onto each disc.

So who are we?

ChannelFlip media is an end-to-end video production company based in Oxford, England. We make TV programmes, sell advertising on them, then distribute them over the internet to our viewers.

Wil Harris is the co-founder and Managing Director of ChannelFlip. Wil has a proven background in online media, having previously founded and edited leading geek computing site bit-tech.net, and is currently featured as a regular panelist for the most popular technology podcast in the world, This Week in Tech. Find out more about Wil here.

Justin Gayner is the co-founder and Creative Director of ChannelFlip. Justin has a long history in traditional TV and media, having written for several national newspapers including the Daily Telegraph. In 2005, Justin became Commercial Director at QI Ltd, the company that produces the popular BBC show ‘QI’ starring Stephen Fry. Justin also produces content for Warner Music’s new comedy website, Comedybox. Find out more about Justin here.

Katharine Fletcher is a comic book maven, Dungeons & Dragons afficionado and bona fide videogame geek. She writes and presents Play:Digital, our videogames show. Katharine comes out of Cambridge, hot off the back of an MPhil in Medieval and Renaissance Literature. Seriously.

Ben Pritchett, another over-achieving English type out of Oxford, is our video guru - filming our three shows on Sony HD kit before ripping them to shreds in Final Cut Pro on his fancy Mac. Ben has previously worked on high-end video productions for the BBC, 1234 Records and the Red Cross.

Media Coverage
