Pineapple Express is a perfect movie for all of you stoners out there.
It’s got weed jokes-a-plenty, Seth Rogen and James Franco in sparkling form and even Rosie Perez from White Men Can’t Jump.
But for the rest of you, well, that’s a different story.
Can you tolerate two hours of ganja jokes before killing yourself with the self-wanton futility of all?

Pineapple Express has been hugely over rated the world over - it’s still funny, but only 3 stars funny for me.
While it was pretty formulaic ‘Cheech & Chong’ type stuff in places I thought the action slant to it and the scenes involving Danny McBrides character ‘Red’ put it way above the usual stoner genre pics.
Possibly Norbit, but was it a 4 star movie? Not really…surely?
I see 3 as being average and for me this was an above average movie.
This is loosely how I see a 5 star scale;
5 - Brilliant
4 - Good
3 - OK
2 - Poor
1 - Awful
It’s good to bring back the Stoner film. Hasn’t been one since the 90’s…
Not my cup of herbal tea these days but I can still remember my hazy 20 something days with mates and a steady supply of Tim Tams (Aussie munchies biscuits covered in chocolate….mmmm mmmm)
It looks like these two guys are still smoking since 2001 when they first came to my attention in that overlooked classic TV show ‘Freaks and Geeks’.
It only went for one season but spawned some amazing talent.
Imdb it and see where they first began.
