games: Dead Space

Twinkle twinkle little star…

Oh god, oh god, I just can’t stand the tension!

Yes it’s EA’s new space survival horror Dead Space (which I’m playing here on 360), and what a corker it is too. Great visuals and fantastic audio.

OK, so there are probably scarier games out there (I wouldn’t know, I’m too scared to try them) but Dead Space is beautifully presented, and really captures the suspenseful atmosphere of the genre very well, as well as being eminently playable.

It’s been a long long time since I’ve drooled over a game. This is beautiful and atmospheric, with fantastic artwork. There are scarier things in this world Katharine :) like… being addicted to Goo! O.o
I never, ever thought I’d hear myself say this but, thank you EA, from the bottom of my textured and filthy soul, thank you

I found the game bland and repetitive. I’m more in agreement with zero punctuation’s review: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/333-Dead-Space

David, I’ve started seeing a therapist to ween me off goo. The OCDness of the lvls are just wrong as I try and build the ultimate tower, cant wait for the sequel……

Arnold-goo it’s goo-sturbing how addictive it is-goo. It even makes me gook at Goo-Blu-Tack and wonder if I can build a goo-tower from my Goo-Mac to my Goo-Phone.

AGH… goo.

Anyway, this goo-game… (i’ll stop), should be great, and it should come with a free teddy to alleviate some of the fear:
