Hi guys, I just started using a new US based services called http://parkmytv.com - basically I can get superfast bandwidth and not interrupt family at home while I place-shift using pretty much any device ranging from sling to have to orb - works like a charm for me while a bit pricey…

Daniel — we will have to check that site out!

JP — thanks for the kind words. We’ll have a new episode up tomorrow.

Quick question that doesn’t seem to be answered on the orb website (that I could see) - does the software let you configure how much buffering it does at each end? My DSL connection on my home PC is a little unpredictable, so ideally I’d like to be buffering as much as possible.

Also, when you say you had problems with the larger files, how big are you talking? Would also be nice to know what specs the PC was and what sort of connection you were on etc just so I can get an idea of whether this is worth fiddling with considering what I’ve got.
cheers

Unfortunately, we couldn’t find anywhere to configure the buffering. The bigger file we tried streaming was about 600mb and we were streaming from a 2.7ghz dual core computer with 3gb of RAM and high speed internet from comcast cable(6 mbps up and 6 mbps down)

Only just seen this - thanks for replying guys, thats useful information. Don’t think I’ll be trying this app as my PC is a helluva lot slower than that and my dsl line has a meager 256kb upstream.
