tech: TDK:Life on Record Trailer

It’s hard to believe that TDK have been involved in data storage since 1935. The company once known as Tokyo Denki Kagaku (Tokyo Electronics and Chemicals), has just brought out a 50 gig Blu-ray disk.

Hot stuff indeed. I went to check it out at in their “Life on Record Trailer” in London.

The Trailer is on a 12 month European tour and is showcasing music and video over the ages. Click on the vid to have a nosy around.

Enjoy - Wil.

Minidisc was fantastic. I bought a Sony MZ-R50 back in the late 90’s and absolutely loved it. It would definitely have become the portable format of choice if it weren’t for MP3 coming along.

I Loved my Mini Disc player. I held out on getting an ipod for a long time because I loved it so much. Plus my head phone cord had a am/fm tuner in it which was a nice plus. I was so sad when the head phones broke, MD’s were out of fashion then. Wolfe slush
