tech: Netbooks: MSI Wind

For this vid, we’re looking at the MSI Wind, one of the first competitors to leap into the Netbook space.

The machine looks pretty generic with some fairly straight design and specs which are nothing to write home about.

But can MSI pull something special out of the back to give us a reason to back them over their rivals? Join Andrew and Wil to find out.

I’d disagree on your quality assessment — I compared the Wind with the the Asus 1001 and the Wind was easily better in every area. The most important thing is that it has a keyboard that a touch typist can actually use. Like all Asus netbooks, the 1001 has an ongoing disaster instead of a keyboard. With the 6-cell battery the Wind gets a good 6 hours of real work, it comes with a 160GB hard drive and Windows means I can actually do real work on it. I now use it for mobile working instead of my MacBook Pro.
