tech: Yahoo Widgets on TV

We’ve all heard of companies trying to put the internet on your TV before.

Microsoft has tried it, along with many others, and all have completely failed. Who wants a keyboard in their living room and who wants to squint at their display to read text?

Well Intel and Yahoo are developing an Internet-on-the-TV platform that’s a little different from previous efforts, being based on Widgets - the popular new software applett form factor. Check out the video for the details on your how your Flickr photostream could be coming to a TV near you.

TO HAVE THIS WORK, you will need some SORT of access to the net.
The problems with this are THOSE that dont have it, DONT want it, and AINT got a computer, and dont see a reason for it.
Even with about a 60% saturation of computers in the USA.
you wont reach any more then 10%..
What you want is to HIT those that dont have the INTERNET, and give them this BASIC access.

“TV entertains and informs, while asking very little of the user.”
