Norbit - what movies are you putting together?
‘Letters From Iwo Jima’ & ‘Flags Of Our Fathers’. I’m dropping all of the background and follow up story from both films and just concentrating on the battle for the island itself.
Obviously nobody will ever see my final work because I strongly observe all copyright laws ![]()
While I haven’t seen either film, sounds like the combo will be a heavy movie. Are you going to try to color correct the movies so they look like one movie?
They were both made one after the other by the same people so they look almost identical already. There are a few scenes in ‘Flags’ which I’m desaturating a bit but it all seems to be going together well.
Hey guys - thanks so much for the mention! I feel very honoured!
J — I’m glad you liked it
Oh, for those of you were wondering that was in Justin’s review of Aliens vs. Predator.
Norbit — interesting. I didn’t know that. I’m very curious about how it turns out. Have you done this kind of thing before?
Maybe someone could make AvP into a half decent movie, though I suspect that it needs a little more than a re-edit.
Schmung — strangely, no one has attempted to do an AvP fan edit on FanEdit.org (if they did, I can’t find it). You want to try?
Aside: my Captcha says “Elected Railroads” — sounds like a great band name.
Sound like something the movie industry could make alot of money out if they got their ass in gear, with directors cuts and the addition of deleted scenes etc. Tho I can see this site getting squished quickly by the power that be :/ heres hopin it lives…
Tony — I think the movie industry is already on this with the DVD release of something, followed by the Special Edition, followed by the Uncut Version You’ve Never Seen, etc.
This actually might make sense for digital distribution so they don’t have to promote it as hard.
Hopefully the site won’t get killed. Maybe they’re based in some far-off intellectual property-free land. Who knows?
There is an fandit of Avp and AvP2 turning these two into 50 minutes episodes for the best of both worlds. A really good faneditor is behind that too.
And thanks for the great article.
I’ll have to check out the fanedit of AVP and AVP2. Do you know the title or what I should search for?
Found it! If you’re looking for that AVP/AVP2 Movie — search for “Predator Chronicles”
That’s a really interesting site. I’ve been working on an edit myself for a while that merges 2 films into one which may end up on there
