tech: Sony’s 007 Gadget Lair

Yesterday, Team ChannelFlip headed a top secret London location at the request of Sony, who promised us a day of Bond-tastic gadgets, gizmos - and Martinis fit for 007 himself.

Who were we to refuse? Wil and Bella took on the assignment, and have smuggled out this top secret footage - including a first look at a £13,000 360 degree speaker, an unreleased HD camcorder, and the most desirable of all - an 11″ OLED TV, with a £2,000 price tag.

Check out the video for the scoop on what we saw - with a delightful-looking Eva Green included.

I saw a whole room (well six or so) of the 11″ OLED screens in Sony’s flagship store in Akihabara, Tokyo last November. The video doesn’t do them justice - the colour, contrast and damn skinnyness of them is stunning!

Excellent coverage, Wil & co. Very neat stuff and I loved your stylistic touches. I guess a 40\ OLED is asking a bit much at this stage.

The young lady needs to know that OLED is definitely not a “completely new type of LCD technology”
it uses organic light emitting diodes, which is nothing at all like liquid crystal technology

You will have a bit of a wait for a 40″ model because the current target is to get a 40″ model developed ’sometime after 2015′ lol

Very nice coverage. Better than many that regularly occupy prime time slots on cable channels.
