film: Kung Fu Panda

“Let’s go and see that panda movie”, said the girlfriend.

“It’s for kids,” I respond. “No”.

“But you’re a big kid!”

“Fair enough,” I say. “But still no”. Gritted teeth now.

I’ve had enough of the lowbrow entertainment provided by Dreamworks recently. Bee Movie was very poor. Flushed Away was not much better.

“I’ll buy your ticket,” she says.

I’m cheap, so I go.

And, do you know what? I’m rather pleased that I can be bought for £8.00, a small popcorn and a shitty cinema cola. Click the video to see why.

‘Aneem’? Surely you mean ‘an-i-may’…

I kind of want to to see this too, but only because it’s Jack Black (and despite the fact that it’s DreamWorks).

Kung-fu films are just intrinsically watchable. FACT.

Not to be TOO excited but I actually own http://www.pandapoo.com and hearing those two words on the show gave me a giddy little thrill!

Brilliant as ever Justin! Keep up the great work!

Hi Chris - yes I did mean ‘animay’, but I’m poorly educated so ‘anime’ was a bit easier at the time!

Hope you’re well old chum?!

I loved Kung Fu Panda. But this review sucks major ones. This guy doesn’t tell you anything you can’t figure out for yourself by watching the trailer. How about more insight on the plot and characters? There’s even plenty to talk about on the technical side as the lighting, animation and water physics are top-notch. Dude, spare us the corny humor and learn how to give a real review.

Not sure what Scarlett’s on about!

If I want to know about lighting and water physics I’ll read a book about it. If I want to know if a film is worth seeing, I’ll come see Justin.
