Last.FM does not work in the Swiss store.

I’ve never been totally convinced about tilt controls for video games, and would be interested to have a go at cro-mag rally to see how the iphone handles it. Super monkey ball looks ideally suited to that mechanism, but for racing games I would imagine it lacks the precision to be really satisfying. Just looking at the clip you showed, you seemed to spend the majority of the time crashing into boulders!

Apple’s Remote controller is simple and brilliant (are we spotting a pattern here!). I allows you to browse and select which tracks you want to play from your main machine’s iTunes library. It’s quick and intuitive, and saves you having to return to your laptop to change tracks.

It’d be nice to have coverflow for the albums, though - seeing as all the cover artwork is there in the ‘albums’ browser, I can’t see why they left this feature out, considering how sweet it looks.

And it’s free.

Rather geekily, I also like CheckWord, which allows you to check any Scrabble word for validity against the official (and pre-loaded) SOWPODS or TWL dictionaries, without having have any reception or WiFi.

If you’re a Scrabulous addict and are going on holiday with a portable Scrabble set, you don’t want to have to carry a 3kg dictionary around with you to solve arguments like, e.g. “Do you think that someone who is out-foxed can be said to be an outfoxee?”

Omnifocus is a bit pricey but but the fact that you can bring up the tasks can be done in your current area as determined by GPS really makes sense. It is also the application to open up to show your boss when you present him/her with the receipt for your glossy new iPhone as a business expense. The app I have shown the most people though is iMilk, it is great to show people 60 that this is really not an ordinary phone.

For games, Enigmo is well worth the coin. Graphics are really well done - though accelerometer support would have been nice - its still an amazing game.

I think I like Pandora better than Last.FM - guess its just what you’re comfortable with.

The remote is my first pick - but if I could create dynamic playlist from it (something like the on the go playlists in the ipod) it would be a killer!
