This week on ChannelFlip I am checking out four of the hottest digital compact cameras on the market this summer. Everyone likes to take holiday snaps this time of year, but who wants to lug a DSLR to the beach? Yes, OK, we’d all like to - but do you really want to risk getting sand in your £1000+ baby?

So I have four cameras: the Canon IXUS 80 IS, the Casio Exilim S10, Samsung i8 and Sony DSC-W150. I’ll be taking test shots and playing with the cameras’ capabilities to bring you a definitive conclusion on which one deserves you cash.

Ably assisting me in my task is technology journalist Andrew Miller - Andrew has written for many of the UK’s top computing and technology mags, so he knows his stuff.

While I’m please CF is back, anticipating a different camera each day is annoying, I’m not interested in days of reporting ion each camera, a distinct turn off. Come on Wil, make it more like the daily giz wiz, but with nice high tech tongue drooling stuff.

Ienojyed this series for what it was. Wound up with the Casio Exslim for a July trip to London and Bournemouth (I’m from the US). It’s a great little pocket cam. Thanks!
