games: Pretty little girl games

So what have I been up to this week? Well, I’m playing My Make-Up, My Dress-Up and My Secret Diary on the DS… *ahem* yeah, right.

This week I’ve been playing through Penny Arcade’s Rain-Slick. Again. I am so damn stupid; when I started a new game to get footage for the review (up next week) I used the same name for my character and so lost my nearly completed save game! Yeah, I know, dumb, dumb, dumb! But sometimes these little catastrophes are blessings in disguise. This game completely rocks my world and having an excuse to play it through again makes me a happy, if rather embarrassed, little bunny. I’ve also  been playing Haze (flawed but underrated) and Racedriver: GRID (damn good if only I could drive well enough to stay on the damn track!) - reviews up soon.

Stay tuned…

Katharine you really are a true geek, your so busy playing your computer games that you forget to do your work, even if it is to just hit the record button. It must be nice having a job you really love.

Great to see you back again, hope your don’t have to have such a big gap again in the future, my iTunes was quiet without you, all tech and no play.

I’ve been messing around with the demo of GRID and it seems like a good laugh, straddling the line between sim and arcade quite nicely, rather like the older games before they went a bit crap. I’m still not sure about the full game though, it depends on the what the complete selection of cars and tracks is like and whether enough people I know buy it so that I can give multiplayer a crack.
