games: Dawn of War: Soul Storm demo
In the grim darkness of the far future… wait a second… I feel like I’ve been here before…
But you can never have too much Warhammer 40K, as Soulstorm, the latest expansion of the Dawn of War series for PC, looks set to prove. Take a look at this little preview based on the recently released demo and see what you think. DoW was always a very well built real-time strategy game, and this seems to continue those standards and supplements them with the some neat new features. I certainly enjoyed being able to play as the twisted and bloodthirsty Dark Eldar, and the Sisters of Battle are looking interesting too.
You can download the demo yourself from FilePlanet, and keep your eyes peeled for the full game in the first week of March.
Whether it was intentional or not, Dawn of War and Squad Command compliment each other really well, providing epic depth and tight skirmishing respectively so neither has to compromise. Ah, happy place…
Anyway, to those who don’t read the ChannelFlip mainpage, apologies for the break from our regular schedule on Monday. Things are back to normal now. Do check back for forthcoming shows on Burnout Paradise, Geometry Wars: Galaxies, the Turok demo, Advance Wars: Dark Conflict (aka Days of Ruin), and a couple more emulators.
Good hunting,

Nice finally a review of a PC game I was getting tired of seeing 360 rubbish. Soulstorm does look awesome though I think it’s downfall will be the confusion over if it’s an expansion or a full game or what you need to own before hand blah blah blah.
Am I right in assuming you would need this and Dark Crusdade to play all races in multiplayer or would I need to get Winter assualt and the original aswell?
