games: Dark Messiah demo

Hey!

Today we’re taking a look at the demo for Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Elements, the 360 port of the action RPG game for Windows from just over a year ago. It’s pretty standard dark fantasy fare, but with interactive scenery and lots of kicking! It works well on the console and is good fun and very accessible, but doesn’t add a whole lot to the genre, or to the game since it’s outing on PC.

Check back on Friday for a look at WinUAE and some old favourites.

Seems glitchy ATM - stops playing at “Instead of letting you leve up by a skill tree” with no explanation as to why.

John - are you still having problems? You’re using a mac right? I’ve tried it on mine with Safari and Firefox and it seems to work fine for me.

Fair review for what was a fairly underwhelming PC game. I managed about 4-5 hours on the PC version before getting bored (just as I did with The Witcher as it happens!).

Just a quick aside: do you guys own a Wii at all? I might be wrong but I don’t see any Wii game reviews. SMG, Endless Ocean or MP3 anyone?

Anyhow, good luck with the site; Katharine gets lovelier each episode!

Thanks Thomas :) Unfortunately we don’t have a wii as yet, but it is on the list of things to buy as we gradually expand the show and company. It’s a shame as there have been some great games out lately (I’m aching to play SMG) but we have to respect the cash flow! We’ll do a big special when we get one though.
