Hello!

While the season is undoubtedly one for big fat wodges of major gaming awesomeness, it is also the one when pockets seem a little emptier than usual and free time runs scarce. But fear not; there is still fun to be had. Today we’re looking at Tetsuya Mizuguchi’s latest, Every Extend Extra Extreme, and the Bitmap Brother’s classic, Speed Ball 2: Brutal Deluxe, popular casual games that you can pick up for around a fiver each (800 points) on XBLA.

Check back on Friday for a look at the Hellgate: London demo. Next week we’ll look at The Witcher, Gears of War (PC) and Eye of Judgement - yes, finally, a PS3 game!

I used to have Speedball 2 on the Megadrive and I can thoroughly recommend that. Ive absolutely no idea what was going on in that E4 gme though apart from the shooter bit at the end which looked like a psychedelic version of Asteroids.

I hope we get a new version of SmashTV. It was ported over to star craft for use on battle.net a few years.

Hey, just wanted to post and tell you how much I appreciate the reviews you’ve done. I like how they’re quick, to the point and focus on the value proposition (after all, games are expensive these days!). I’ve subscribed to your show and look forward to future reviews. Norbit - I totally hear you; I was playing the damn thing and wasn’t entirely sure what was going on. Rather random, often leaving you with a sensation of ‘Oh, I appear to have just scored several trillion? Was that me?’. Not un-fun though.

Murfy, I tried to download Everyday Shooter when we got the PS3, but it’s not out over here - alas! Any American viewers care to enlighten us?
