tech: Shure SE110

A couple of week’s ago, we reviewed the Shure SE420s, a high-end set of earbuds for about £200. These new SE110s - a brand new offering in the £50-60 price range - are far more affordable for most. But does affordable mean rubbish?

Thankfully, no. These buds are well worth a look, but also consider the Shure SE210s, an older set that have rather better bass response.

Hope you guys like the slightly off-beat humour. Don’t forget to subscribe (iTunes store link!) and check back on Wednesday for a cool video update on the Asus Eee PC.

Does your show play on that iPhone I see you holding? Because it doesn’t work on mine. I get the sound only, no video. It plays correctly in iTunes. I’ve tried several episodes of Unwired and Play:Digital. Other video podcasts, e.g. Tekzilla, work fine.
Any idea what’s up?

Hey dude, thanks for the comment. I have no idea why that would happen - I haven’t seen that before. Will you do me a favour and drop me an email with some details? wil at channelflip dot com. Cheers!

Never mind, I got it to work. Turns out that to watch a video podcast on the iPhone you have to pick it from the “Videos” menu not the “Podcasts” menu. sigh.

I blame Steve Jobs.

These earbuds must be magic as there aren’t any guitars on my copy of ‘Home’ by the Foo Fighters!

It might have been a bit more interesting if you had compared them with something else.
(Ultimate ears, Creative and V-moda all do similar products in the same price range.)

And you are supposed to wear them with the cable looped over your ear…

Great quality video though…
