tech: Logic 3 SoundStage

So here’s something quite cool - an exclusive review of Logic 3’s latest speaker set. These have not been reviewed, to the best of my knowledge, anywhere else on the web - beyond the initial press release blast that was picked up by Engadget, Cnet et al back in September.

With that in mind, sit back and enjoy our review of this rather unusual product. If you’re interested in picking it up, it’s currently at £230 Play.com.

Make sure to link our surround-sound loving friends to the show, and subscribe (iTunes store link!) if you haven’t already!

Best episode yet. This kind of deeper analysis makes the show much better! Keep up the good work.

I *suppose* the volume goes to 63 because it’s broken down into 2^6 levels and starts at 0. But that’s not really a reason… why expose such technicalities to the end user? A percentage display is probably a better idea.

Can I ask what tv you were testing this on?
It look like the Samsung LE26R87BDX - exactly the TV i’m thinking of getting this piece of kit for!

Can you please advise if the unit has an integrated/internal amp.
I’ve tried to find out via munerous websites which give product
specifications but none of them mention this and as I am using a projector
and screen I obviously need some sort of amp output for the speaker system.
